Traction Control System (TCS)

What is a traction control system?

A traction control system (TCS), is usually a function of the electronic stability control (ESC) system on cars. It is designed to prevent a loss of grip by the wheels. When a driver accelerates and the wheels are spinning too fast to grip on the road, the TCS automatically switches on.

In some cases, the TCS will apply the brakes to one or more wheels, while in others it acts to reduce the power in the engine being sent to the wheels.
